Dalat, the math and the schedule

Dalat, the math and the schedule

I planned everything carefully, but I should’ve known better…

As the majority of my day was spent with travelling back from the island anyway, I thought I spend the rest of it on the road as well, heading to Dalat. This way I could have a full day next day to discover the area. I checked the travel time from Saigon, it is 8 hours. When my bus from Tran De arrived to Saigon, it was too late already for leaving the city immediately, as I had no chance for arriving before midnight. I waited a couple of hours walking around, reading, doing nothing, so I could leave with a bus arriving in the morning. The bus this time was more comfortable, more space at the sleeper seats, they even provided blankets. All perfect, except the bus completed the journey in 5 and a half hours only. Ouch. Imagine my face, when the bus dropped me at 4am in the super dark and cold (14 degrees!) Dalat. I was hoping for a morning arrival, short walk to the lake, walking to my next accommodation named Brew and Breakfast, and start the day with exactly what their name is promising: have a good coffee and breakfast. Vietnam keeps overwriting my plans.
